Wendy Williams was back at her assisted living facility Thursday morning after a short-lived night of freedom in New York City.
In photos exclusively obtained by Page Six, the former talk show host — who has compared the facility to a “prison” — appeared in good spirits despite her location.
She was spotted peaking out from the glass window of her room, while flashing a big smile on her face.
Williams, chic in a bright pink Versace robe with her hair down, appeared to be in good spirits.
The former “Wendy Williams Show” host had not been at Coterie in Lenox Hill for several days, as she was whisked away in an ambulance Monday after she pleaded for help from the paparazzi.
She held a handwritten note up to her window at the time that read, “Help! Wendy!!,” which prompted police to perform a wellness check.
Williams — who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia in 2024 — was then taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors ran a series of tests to evaluate her mental health status.
The former radio DJ aced her psychiatric evaluation, with insiders telling TMZ that she scored “10 out of 10” on a “capacity test” and a psychiatrist deemed her “mental capacity is fully intact.”
The revelation comes years after Williams has been fighting claims that she’s mentally incapacitated.
In 2022, she was placed in a guardianship after Wells Fargo froze her bank accounts and expressed concerns that she had been a “victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.”
Williams’ guardian, Sabrina E. Morrissey, then claimed in November 2024 that the former host had become “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated.”
The letter was submitted as part of Morrissey’s ongoing lawsuit against A+E Networks for their alleged exploitation of Williams with their Lifetime documentary, “Where Is Wendy Williams?”
In January, Williams herself hit back at those allegations during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”
She said she felt “trapped” in the facility, which is primarily for the elderly, and said she felt like a victim of “emotional abuse” in the emotional interview.
Morrissey has blasted Williams’ depiction of the facility, saying in a letter to TMZ that those claims are “untrue, inaccurate, incomplete or misleading.”
The attorney also claimed Williams can call and see her family members whenever she wants.
Despite those claims, TMZ reported Thursday that the assisted living facility has filed a police report against Williams’ niece, Alex Finnie, because she “broke the law” by taking her to dinner Wednesday.
As Page Six previously reported, the pair went to Max Tucci’s Tucci restaurant in NoHo.
“She had a super time, she kept writing in her journal, she looked great,” an insider told us. “Guests inside the restaurant respected her. She was with her niece and a young man.”
Williams reportedly told TMZ it’s “weird” her facility took issue with her outing since “there are no restrictions on her movements and family visitors.”
It’s possible that the beloved former shock jock will not be in a guardianship for long, however.
Morrissey reportedly signed an affidavit last month to end the court-appointed order, as Williams has allegedly “regained capacity” to function independently.
