Chop, chop.
Nicole Kidman, 57, turned heads on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet Monday night, debuting a two-toned pixie hairstyle.
Celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel styled the “Babygirl” star’s locks in a side part with long cascading bangs framing one side of her face.
While the chop dramatically changed Kidman’s looks, it’s likely just temporary as the Oscar-winning actress is known to wear wigs — to varying degrees of believability — in nearly every project she’s done.
The actress embraced this year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” with her tailored short cut, as it “brought out the essence of Dandyism” by “honoring the Dandies and their individuality, elegance, and confidence—where every detail is tailored to that unique person,” per a press release breaking down Abergel’s process.
The statement added that Abergel ensured Kidman’s new cut “was all about tailoring the right proportions.”
Meanwhile, the A-lister’s strapless black custom Balenciaga Couture gown was an ode famed singer and actress Eartha Kitt, per E! News correspondent Zanna Roberts Rassi.
Styled by Jason Bolden, her black organza gown — which was inspired by a frock from Cristóbal Balenciaga’s 1952 collection — took a staggering 700 hours to make.

The couture creation boasted a square neckline, a long flared skirt, and two silk bow details — one wrapped around the bodice and the other around her waist.
Kidman accented the look with black heels, matching short gloves and diamond-encrusted dangling earrings.
As for her glam, the mother of four rocked a smokey eye look, pink blush and peach-colored lipstick.
It seems her husband Keith Urban sat this one out, as he didn’t walk the red carpet with his wife.
A fixture at the annual affair, Kidman attended the Met Gala last year, rocking a recreation of an iconic 1950s black and white couture gown created by Cristobal Balenciaga.
In 2023, she made quite the splash, wearing the same pale pink Chanel Haute Couture gown she sported in an ad for the fashion house’s No. 5 fragrance in 2004.
The gown boasted 250 pink ostrich feathers and over 3,000 silver crystals, according to Vogue.
She never misses the sartorial mark.
